Shiva as Neelkantha

In the great churning of the cosmic ocean, the devas and asuras sought to obtain amrita, the elixir of immortality. However, the process also brought forth the deadly poison Halahala. As the poison rose from the depths, it threatened to destroy all creation. Realizing the peril, the gods frantically searched for a savior. They turned to Lord Shiva, who stood resolute amidst the chaos. With great compassion, Shiva drank the poison that oozed from the churning mountain, Mandara. The venom coursed through his body, turning his throat a deep blue - henceforth known as Neelkantha. By sacrificing himself for the greater good, Shiva prevented the annihilation of the universe. His act of supreme devotion and selflessness became an eternal testament to the power of transformation and the importance of sacrifice in the face of adversity.
