In ancient Hindu myth, there lived a radiant being known as Surya - the powerful sun god. His brilliance was so blinding that he longed for the touch of love. One day, Surya came across Sanjna, the beautiful daughter of Vishwakarma, the divine architect of the cosmos. He was smitten and requested her hand in marriage. The gods arranged their union and all was well. Yet as time passed, Sanjna found she could not bear Surya's scorching heat and yearned for cooler climes. One day, she fled to her father's home, leaving behind only her shadow-self Chhaya in her place. Surya grieved the loss of his beloved wife and was filled with loneliness and longing. He pined for Sanjna, but could not have her. Seeing this, Vishwakarma had mercy on his son-in-law. He trimmed the sharp rays of Surya so that they would be gentle enough for Sanjna to touch. This allowed them to be together in love despite the difference in their temperatures. The story of Surya and Sanjna teaches that true love can endure and adapt, finding ways to stay close even when challenges like heat and cold separate us at first glance. It celebrates how divine intervention can make it possible for two to come together in sweet union despite differences. In the end, this sun god and his shadow bride found a way to be eternally united by love's power - even when all seems lost and apart.
