The Ashwinis, divine twin horsemen and physicians of the gods
Born from the rays of Lord Surya, the Sun god, the brilliant twins Chitragupta and Sandhya are master horse breeders. They rode through heaven and earth on their swift horses, Sanjay and Megh, healing the sick and restoring youth to all. With twin intelligence and skill, they brought quick and miraculous aid wherever they went.
Known as the Ashwinis, these divine twins were guardians of Ayurveda, the science of life. Their knowledge knew no bounds, and they held mastery over horse riding, chariotry, medicine, and alchemy. As physicians to the gods, their healing touch was unparalleled.
These twin brothers, Chitragupta and Sandhya, are embodiments of the very essence of Gemini - quick thinking, adaptability, and a love for knowledge and travel. They symbolize the duality inherent in human nature, as well as the unyielding strength that comes from unity.
